Leica Unveils Limited "Safari" Edition M10-P Camera & Summicron-M 50 mm f/2 Lens

Leica has announced new limited edition versions of its M10-P Full-Frame Rangefinder Camera and Summicron-M 50 mm f/2 Lens. Dubbed "Safari" editions, both units feature special olive green enamel finishes.

This premium stove enamel finish also makes the camera and lens resistant to scratches and finger marks, while offering protection from solvents, chemicals, and UV light. And in addition to the olive green aesthetic, the new M10-P Safari Edition Camera also comes with special accessories, including a carrying strap and a case for SD memory cards and credit cards made from Brandycoloured full grain cowhide. Meanwhile, the Summicron-M 50 mm f/2 Safari Edition Lens features a few extra design flourishes, including red paint engravings for its distance scale and focal length indicators to provide added contrast against the unit's other white engravings.

Outside of the "Safari" visual touches, the camera and lens both feature the same performance specs as their standard editions. The M10-P Safari Edition Camera is set to be available later this week for a MSRP of $8,450. Shipments will be limited to 1,500 units. The Summicron-M 50 mm f/2 Safari Edition Lens is set to launch on February 15 for an MSRP of $2,750. Shipments are expected to be limited to 500 units.
