Leica Reveals New Limited Edition M-Lenses

Leica has launched a trio of limited edition M-mount lenses. The lineup includes new special variations of the company's APO-Summicron-M 50 mm f/2 ASPH., Summaron-M 28 mm f/5.6, and SummiluxM 28 mm f/1.4 ASPH. lenses. Beyond the updated design flourishes, all of the lenses will offer the same basic technical and performance specs as their previously released models.

The Leica APO-Summicron-M 50mm f/2 ASPH. Black-Chrome Edition Lens will feature a scalloped focusing ring reminiscent of the 1956 Summicron 50 mm f/2 (II), along with brass machined barrel components, and red focal length/distance engravings. In addition, the lens includes a round brass hood engraved with "Made in Germany" and a solid brass cap. The Black-Chrome edition is set to start shipping on February 21 for an MSRP of $9595. The Leica Summaron-M 28mm f/5.6 Matte Black Paint Edition Lens will feature a special wear resistant paint with a similar visual appearance as the company's classic black chrome finish. In addition, the front aperture scale is now engraved in red. The Matte Black Paint edition is set to start shipping on February 28 for an MSRP of $2995. The release will be limited to 500 units.
