Leica Oskar Barnack Award Now Open For Submissions

This year's Oskar Barnack award competition will be open for submissions starting January 15th. The winner will receive not only cash, but a Leica camera and lens to boot.

Awards have increased across the board for this year's Oskar Barnack awards, with the overall winner taking home a Leica M9 camera and lens in addition to nabbing 5,000 euros, or around $6,500 US. Of course, the camera and lens are the real prize - they're worth nearly double that.

There's also a newcomer award for photographers under 25, which could net you a Leica M9 and lens as well.
