Leica Launches Pre-Orders for Entry-Level M-E Digital Rangefinder Camera

Leica has launched pre-orders for its M-E (Typ 240) Digital Rangefinder Camera (MSRP of $3,995). Shipments are expected to go out by July 26.

The Leica M-E (Typ 240) is designed to serve as the company's entry-level M-System camera model. The unit features a full-frame 24MP CMOS sensor and Maestro image processor with a sensitivity range of ISO 200-6400. In addition, the device supports 3 fps continuous shooting and offers a 2GB internal buffer. And when it comes to video capture, the camera includes Full HD 1080p 24 fps recording capabilities.

Meanwhile, the camera body offers dust and spray water resistance, and incorporates a genuine leather trim and a top and base plate finished in an anthracite grey paint. Finally, a 0.68x optical viewfinder and a rear 3.0" 920k-dot LCD screen are integrated as well.
