LaCie Unveils the FastKey USB 3.0 Drive

Now that USB 3.0 is finally here, the quest for the best USB 3.0 drive is on. LaCie's latest creation is the FastKey, a drive that can deliver speeds of up to 260MB per second. That's four seconds to move a whole gigabyte of data.

Not only is the FastKey quicker at moving large files, but thanks to a combination of solid state drive, USB 3.0 and DRAM cache technologies small files transfer nearly instantly. "With the Fastkey," explains LaCie's Luc Pierart, "transferring small files is immediate. You can back up or share your music and photo libraries as you head out the door."

The FastKey packs 120 gigabytes into a nice and slim flash drive with a sturdy aluminum casing. It's not quite as small as a traditional thumb drive, but it's still tiny enough for your keychain.
