The EasyShare Z950 is Kodak's latest compact super-zoom. With 12-megapixels, a 10x optical zoom lens, 720p HD video capture, and a 3.0-inch LCD, the Z950 is packed with appealing features. This camera also offers various user-friendly options, like Smart Capture, along with plenty of manual control for advanced users.

The Olympus SP-590 replaces the SP-565 we saw earlier in the year. This 12-megapixel "ultra-zoom" boasts powerful options, such as a 26x optical zoom lens that covers an equivalent range of 26-676mm. Other key features include Olympus' TruPic III image processor, a 2.7-inch LCD, Dual Image Stabilization, and several high-speed burst modes (we achieved a best of 10.7fps @5M and 15.8fps@3M).

Lastly, we have the compact Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS1. This model shares many of its features with the DMC-ZS3 we reviewed in May (2009), shedding a few options like HD video capture and stereo microphones to help reduce the camera's price. Key features include 10-megapixels of resolution, a 12x optical zoom lens with Panasonic's MEGA O.I.S. image stabilization, intelligent Auto exposure mode, a 2.7-inch LCD, and 2fps burst capture. All this is packed into a very compact shell that will have no problem being tucked away into small handbags or larger pants pockets.
