Kingston Unleashes a 600x CF Card

The 133x Elite Pro is an impressive CompactFlash card, as is the CF Ultimate 266x. They're good cards, but neither of them holds a candle to the new Ultimate 600x in terms of transfer speed.

The Ultimate 600x boasts transfer speeds of 90MB a second, over four times that of the Elite Pro's 20MB per second rate. With speed like that, you can fill or empty a gigabyte of space in just over 11 seconds.

"The Kingston CF Ultimate 600x cards are great for photographers shooting in burst mode," says product manager Mike Kuppinger. "For example, in a situation like a wedding or sporting event where the ability to rapidly take successive shots could make the difference between capturing the perfect shot or just missing it."

Kingston offers the new cards in two capacities - 16 gigabyte and 32 gigabyte. You can pick up the 16 gig version for $154, while the 32 gig version will run you $270. Kingston's new cards are available now.
