Just posted: Our Canon PowerShot SX40 HS Review

We've just finished up working with Canon's latest Mega-zoom, the PowerShot SX40 HS. This unit builds off of the SX30 IS we reviewed last year, with some appealing new upgrades. The most important of those is the inclusion of their newer HS (High Sensitivity) system, which combines a fast CMOS type image sensor (12-megapixels in this case) with their DIGIC 5 processor, and a fast f/2.7 lens (at wide angle). We've seen the HS badge on several of the digital ELPH models, however the SX40 is the first real "bridge camera" we've seen incorporate this system.

Other exciting features include an impressive 35x optical zoom lens covering an equivalent focal range of 24 - 840mm, true lens-shift optical image stabilization, Intelligent IS, a rotating 2.7-inch "Vari-Angle" LCD screen, full 1080p HD video recording, and a host of exposure controls and options for users of all degrees; whether you're a beginner or a pro.
