iPhone Now Does HDR Without the Need for Apps
Say what you like about the iPhone's capabilities as a camera, you've got to admit that the sheer amount of support the device gets from Apple and from third party developers is impressive. Once the folks in charge of the device realized that high dynamic range photography was in demand, they baked it right in.
The latest update to the iPhone marks the debut of HDR photo capture, which allows for users to take multiple photos from their phone and combine them. The effect is less than perfect as seen in Gizmodo's test shoots, but it's exciting for iPhone users nonetheless.
This is the sort of thing that would be great to see in point and shoot cameras too. A little bit of built in processing could make a big difference for folks that don't want to spend a lot of time in Photoshop to get unique looking photos.
