Imaging-Resource Opens New SLRgear.com Website

Our good friends at the Imaging-Resource.com have just opened a brand new website at www.SLRgear.com that is devoted to helping the new dSLR owner get his "kit" together - so to speak. Here's what Dave Etchells has to say:

Much of the fun of SLR ownership comes from expanding your photographic arsenal. The camera itself is only the beginning of your journey: You'll be adding lenses, flash units, filters, camera bags, and other accessories for years to come. Actually, choosing the components of your "kit" is arguably more important than your initial choice of camera. Given the continuing advance of camera technology, it's very likely that you'll own several camera bodies over the course of your photo career, but will continue to use the same lenses for years to come.

So that's what SLRgear.com is all about: Helping you select the best "gear" for your digital SLR.

Dave and company will provide very detailed and interactive lens test data using the DxO Labs software and some coding by his son Arthur to make sure that you know about the strong and weak points of particular lenses when used on today's modern digital SLR bodies. Dave tells me that you'll be able to see the range of blur and sharpness across the entire frame as well as scroll through a range of aperture and focal lengths. If you're into dSLRs then this sounds like the place to visit before you make an expensive lens purchase - so check it out.
