Human Monitoring Boasts Superior Image Compression Technology

Just a few days after we heard about WebP, the folks over at Human Monitoring have announced their own brand of image compression, which they say is superior in every way.

"Unlike Microsoft's JPEG-XR and the recently announced Google WebP format, hipix is designed to answer the market needs from cameras to web applications and mobile phones," says the company. It boasts a higher quality 422 color format than WebP and can compress files down to 15 percent of the size of JPEG files.
