Huawei Mate 20 Pro Might Have the Best Camera Ever on a Smartphone

Huawei phones have come so far in such a short period of time. They've gone from being perceived as just another iPhone knockoff, to a serious and affordable contender in just a few years.

A Weibo user (Chinese microblogging site) claims to not only early have access to a Huawei Mate 20 Pro and even better, claims that they put it through the paces on DxOMark.

For those not in the know, to quote DxOMark's website is:

"Established in 2008, DxOMark is an independent benchmark that scientifically assesses image quality of smartphones, lenses and cameras.

The result of a rigorous scientific protocol using industry-grade lab tools, the DxOMark score sums up our assessment of a devices' photo and video quality. The higher the score, the better the image quality."

Here's the supposed image of the score.

Now, even though the Huawei Mate 20 Pro hasn't been officially revealed or announced yet for that matter, it's not hard to believe it could score the high as their last camera the Huawei P20 Pro scored higher than any other phone. But there's more to this leak as it lists the Google Pixel 3 on it as well as the iPhone Xs Max.

The phones new purported three cameras may have something to do with the high score. There's no information on sensor size, MP or capabilities beyond the DxOMark, but it's not one that I doubt. Huawei has blown past its competitors in the last year both in overall performance, camera images and price. There's a reason Huawei is the second largest cellphone manufacturer in the world.

Hopefully, Huawei doesn't keep the Mate 20 Pro hidden for long. The more competition there is out there for better products, the more it inspires the competition to do better.
