HTC Announces 4G WiMax Phone with 8GB Camera

It's not going to take the place of your DSLR, but the HTC EVO may make you reconsider the purchase of lower end digital cameras. The EVO actually has two cameras. The main camera is a 8MP, while the secondary is a 1.3MP front-facing camera.

It's not just pictures that make the EVO a seemingly viable photography device though. It's WiFi capable, and it can go online on a 3G or 4G network, which means a potential 6Mbps speed. That's as good as many home broadband connections.

Uploading your pictures quickly is a nice bonus, but the EVO can also output pictures, slideshow and video to 720p through the use of HDMI. Fast uploads and a simple TV hookup make the HTC EVO an incredibly capable device.

There's no price yet, and the release date is simply slated as Summer 2010.
