Hasselblad Announces XCD 35-75mm f/3.5-4.5 Lens

Hasselblad has revealed its newest lens, the XCD 35-75mm f/3.5-4.5. The X System lens is set to start shipping in October for an MSRP of $5,175. Pre-orders are now live via B&H Photo-Video.

"This really is the best lens Hasselblad has developed – its performance is extremely high, competing with our prime lenses. I can even go as far to say that it's probably the best zoom lens currently available on the market," said Per Nordlund, Hasselblad Lead Optical Designer.

Serving as the ninth addition to the company's X System lens lineup, the XCD 35-75mm f/3.5-4.5 is a compact mid-range zoom designed for a variety of shooting applications from wide angle landscapes to portrait images. The unit's optical design features two aspherical elements to help minimize distortion and spherical aberrations. In addition, the device incorporates an integral central lens shutter, enabling exposure times from 68 minutes to 1/2000s with full flash synchronization. Likewise, the lens uses an internal focusing design with quick autofocus capabilities and a manual override option.
