Fujifilm USA Launches New Website & Mobile App for X and GFX Cameras

Fuji just launched FUJIFILMXGFX.com, a custom website and mobile app for Fujifilm X and GFX-series owners, and anyone interested in photography.

I don't think I've ever seen a website like this from a manufacturer. It's like it's two websites in one as its main page is split down the middle with X series on one side and GFX on the other. You choose a path of which camera world you want to explore. Each side has mirroring categories, for example, the X-series side looks like this:

  • News
  • X News
  • X Interviews
  • X Technique
  • X Showcase
  • Gear Chooser
  • Fujifilm Focus
Each one of those options brings you to yet another page filled with interviews from famous photographers, tips and lessons on how to take advantage of the camera's capabilities, and the latest news on Fuji equipment.

People who register on the site will be the first to learn about the locations of Fuji events and where to get the latest gear, including promotions etc. In a quote from the press release Fuji had this to say about the new site and App:

"We are excited to launch a platform that displays the image quality and creative possibilities of the GFX system and X Series line of digital cameras," said Yuji Igarashi, General Manager of the Electronic Imaging Division & Optical Devices Division at FUJIFILM North America Corporation. "It's basically a go-to website and app offering a range of resources, for all FUJIFILM photographers."

The mobile App, FUJIFILM X/GFX USA, will have all the same features and information as the website, but be tailor-made for mobile devices on Apple or Android.

I think we're at a point where a lot of the high-end digital and mirrorless cameras from any manufacturer can almost be interchangeable, so, what's going to set them apart to new buyers? I think It's going to come down to things like this. Websites and tools that not only help you get the most out of your camera but inspire you to go out there and take better images. Fuji might be onto something.
