FUJIFILM has announced the latest addition to its XP Series. The new FinePix XP140 has been designed with adventure in mind, offering a very durable and rugged construction.

Weighing just 7.3oz, the FinePix XP140 offers a compact and light design, along with a waterproof (to 82 feet), shockproof (up to 5.9ft), freeze-proof (to 14°F), and dustproof form factor - making it an ideal choice for use during out-door activities. Under the hood, the camera features a 16.4 megapixel back-illuminated CMOS sensor and a FUJINON 5x optical zoom lens. In addition, the device includes an optical image stabilization mechanism and support for an output sensitivity as high as ISO12800 for low-light capture.

Likewise, the unit offers several automated functions for better ease-of-use, including a "Scene Recognition Auto" mode to determine the main subject in a scene and then automatically optimize the camera setting, and an "Eye Detection" feature to automatically focus on a subject's eyes. 17 "Advanced Filter" variations are also implemented, including "Rich & Fine" and "Monochrome (NIR)".
