Fujifilm Announces New Lenses for GFX and X Series Cameras

Fujifilm has detailed the latest additions to its lineup of lenses for GFX and X Series cameras. The new collection includes the FUJINON GF50mmF3.5 R LM WR lens and the FUJINON XF16-80mmF4 R OIS WR.

The FUJINON GF50mmF3.5 R LM WR is a prime lens geared toward street and landscape photography designed for GFX cameras. Weighing in at 11.8 oz./335g, the lens is now the smallest and the lightest GF model so far. The unit features an optical construction consisting of 9 elements in 6 groups, including one aspherical lens element to help reduce spherical aberration and barrel distortion. Fast and quiet autofocus performance is implemented as well with a linear motor. Finally, the device also features a weather-sealed construction and support for operating in temperatures as low as 14°F (-10°C).

Meanwhile, the device is rated for a minimum shooting distance of 13.8 inches (35 cm) over its entire zoom range, along with a maximum shooting magnification of 0.25x. The unit's optical design consists of 16 elements in 12 groups, including one aspherical element to help minimize field curvature and spherical aberration. Likewise, the device offers fast and quiet autofocus performance, along with 6.0 stops of CIPA-Rated Optical Image Stabilization. Finally, the lens has also been weather-sealed in ten places along the barrel and is rated for operation in temperatures as low as 14°F (-10°C).
