Fuji Announces Getpix Dash Photo Kiosk to Print From Mobile Devices

People are taking more pictures now than at any point in the history of man -- over 1.2 trillion photos a year if we want to be exact about it. Smartphones all have decent enough cameras built in and with all the cloud solutions, memory is cheap, so, people just snap away. A lot of folks, however, don't have printers anymore. We're living more and more in a paperless world and people don't like the amount of space they take up or want to deal with toner and ink cartridges. Fuji is making it easy for everyone to get prints of photos taken from or stored on your phone without buying a printer as they just announced their new Getpix Dash Photo Kiosks

In a press release from them they had this to say about how it works:

"The GetPix DASH's ease of use is an excellent way for consumers to print images from their smartphones, allowing them to display and share special captured memories. Users simply upload their images to mygetpix.comand visit the nearest GetPix DASH photo kiosk. Once at the kiosk, they then enter the code received after uploading their images and are ready to print their photos. Utilizing the ASK-300 dye-sublimation printer, the GetPix DASH platform offers quality photos in a matter of seconds."

This is a great tool for small businesses, print shops or even corner stores as there's no complicated cables or software for them to run. It can be set up to be displayed on a full pedestal or on a counter, making it adaptable to your business space.

This is smart of Fuji as people want things to be as intuitive as their phones are. Everything just works. Making an affordable system for people to use that doesn't require an app to download is also smart. If you have a smartphone then you can access the internet, so, you just go to their website, upload your photos and head down to the nearest print location. It's instant enough when you don't have to wait a few days or upload while you're sitting inside a store with your phone connected to a foreign device. With that cyber fraud going around it's much easier to ask people to stay in their own electronic ecosystem without letting strangers have access to it.

The GetPix DASH will be available in the U.S. on July 2, 2018, for $1,999.00. It comes with the 10" tablet, floor or table top stand and the FujiFilm ASK-300 printer.
