Flickr Hits Five Billion Uploads

Aaron Yeo isn't a name you're likely to have heard, but his recently uploaded photo collage marks a big moment for the folks at Flickr.

Yeo, known as YeoAaron on the site, gained a slice of internet fame and a bit of love from the folks at Flickr when he uploaded the site's five billionth photo.  That's five billion photos in just about five and a half years.  That's around a billion a year, 2.7 million a day, 114 thousand an hour and 1900 photos a minute.

According to Flickr's Zack Shepard, the current average day for Flickr produces over 3,000 images a minute, which puts them on pace to reach the 10 billion mark by 2013.
