Fix a Locked SD Card With Scotch Tape

SD Card.JPGRemember back in the day when you wanted to record over a VHS tape you owned, but couldn't due to the missing tabs? The solution was simple, just a piece of Scotch tape. How about that cassette you wanted to record over? Same thing.

It turns out the old trick for VHS tapes works for SD cards as well. If you have an SD card that's stuck in the 'locked' position, you can fix it thanks to the magic of tape.

When you flip the lock switch, it doesn't actually do anything to the card itself. Everything that happens, happens in your card reader or your camera. Popping a piece of Scotch tape over the SD card makes it writable again. Nice and easy.
