Eye-Fi Announces Mobile Facebook Video Uploads

Eye-Fi announced Facebook compatibility today, specifically for sending recorded videos directly to Facebook without connecting to a computer first.  Recorded video on a digital camera is transmitted through the Wi-Fi enabled Eye-Fi card.  The Facebook integration also allows for automatic news feed posts when you upload new photos to media sharing sites like Flickr and Youtube.  Eye-Fi cards are built on the SD memory platform and range from $49.99 to $149.99 depending on the memory size of the card and the capabilities of the uploading process (such as uploading RAW images).
Today's announcement creates an interesting solution to digital camera owners looking for a completely mobile solution for uploading video.  Rather than using a mini-video recorder designed for shooting mobile video on the go (such as the Flip Video HD or Kodak Zi8) and connecting to a computer to upload it, an Eye-Fi card owner will be able to upload video immediately after shooting; assuming they are in range of a Wi-fi hotspot.
