EISA Announces Awards for 2011

EISA-2011.jpgThe European Imaging and Sound Association has announced the winners of this year's awards for achievement in a variety categories including photo and video products. You'll find plenty of familiar names on the list as well as a few surprises.

Canon earned the award for best overall camera with the EOS 600D DSLR, also known as the EOS Rebel T3i. The Advanced SLR Camera award went to Nikon for the D7000, packed with high-end features. When it comes to pro cameras, the Pentax 645D took top billing thanks to its 33x44mm image sensor, large viewfinder and impressive image quality.

Casio's EXILIM EX-ZR100 took home the award for the best travel camera while Sony's Cyber-Shot DSC-HX9V was honored for being the best compact. Tamron picked up an award for the AF 18-270mm F3.5-6.3 Di II VC PZD lens. The zoom lens honor is the sixth consecutive win for Tamron in this category.
