DJI Reveals New Osmo Action 4K Camera

DJI has announced the launch of its new Osmo Action 4K Camera. Pre-orders are now available for $349 via B&H Photo-Video. Shipments are expected to go out by May 20.

The Osmo Action is a compact and rugged action camera with a dustproof, shockproof (from up to 5 feet), and waterproof (depth of 36 feet) design. The unit incorporates a 1/2.3-inch CMOS sensor with support for 12-megapixel photos, 4K SDR video at up to 60fps and 100Mbps, 4K HDR video at up to 30fps, and slow-motion 1080p video at up to 240fps. In addition, a wide f/2.8 three-glass aspherical lens is integrated as well, along with a lens cap finished with two layers of anti-fingerprint coating and an anti-reflective coating.

Meanwhile, the camera also supports RockSteady Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS) technology to enable smooth and stable video recording. A 2.25-inch rear touchscreen with a water and fingerprint-repelling coating is built-in as well, along with a 1.4-inch front screen geared toward vlogging and selfies. Finally, the device features a removable LiPo battery, dual speakers, and dual microphones with support for voice control commands.
