DJI Details Ronin-SC Single-Handed Stabilizer for Mirrorless Cameras

DJI has revealed its latest Ronin gimbal model, the new Ronin-S Compact (SC). The device is now available for an MSRP of $439. In addition, a Pro Combo Kit with a focus wheel, external focus motor, and Remote Start Stop (RSS) Splitter is available for $539.

"The Ronin-SC took the powerful technology from the Ronin-S and put it in a lighter and smaller form factor," said Paul Pan, Senior Product Manager. "Now users can pair their mirrorless system with a stabilizer that is easier to transport, easier to set up, easier to use yet still equipped with high-performance features and technology."

Designed for use with mirrorless cameras (full compatibility list HERE), the Ronin-SC is a single-handed 3-axis gimbal with a durable construction made from magnesium, steel, aluminum, and composite plastic. The device features a travel-friendly weight of only 2.4 lbs., and the unit can be taken apart for added portability in backpacks and cases. The gimbal's high-grade motors can support up to 4.4 lbs and the system's battery is rated for to 11 hours of use. Additional features include 3 axis locks on the pan, tilt and roll axis, along with a new position lock system. Gimbal movements can be controlled via a joystick while different modes and settings can be accessed through the the Mode (M) button and the front trigger button. Likewise, users can adjust settings, set up to 3 different custom profiles, and run balance tests via the Ronin app.
