DIY Waxed Camera Bag is a Much Cheaper Alternative

Waxed camera bags are incredibly cool both in look and feel, but they're not exactly cheap. They'll run you upwards of $100, which is a bit much to spend if you already have a nice canvas bag. Conveniently enough, DIY Photography has put up a tutorial on how to turn your existing bag into a waxed bag. The secret, as you may have guessed, is wax.

The process is actually fairly simple. Start by melting wax in a double boiler. After that, you'll go ahead and apply the wax to your bag using a brush and let it cool. Once the wax is on there, it's time to bake it into the fabric using a dryer, a heat gun or even a hair dryer. 15-30 minutes later, your bag is ready to go.
