DIY: Power Your Flash Lights with a Flashlight

This is a tip just for the hardcore DIYers out there, but it's an incredibly cool one. If you're sick of replacing the batteries in your external flashes, there are plenty of options available. Only this hack, created by Matthew Kenney, lets you power your flashes with a fully functional flashlight.

It's not exactly a simple process. You'll need to do plenty of modifications to both your flashlight and your external flash as well as create dummy batteries to power the flash. Once you're done though, you'll have a unique and handy device.

The best part of this hack is that if you want to pop in normal batteries, you just need to take out the dummies. Both the flashlight and your flash will function normally after you're done.
