DIY: Make A Walking Stick Into a Portable Monopod

If you're interested in nature photography, chances are you're not driving in to get photographs.  You're hiking, and probably hiking far at that.  You've got gear on your back, your camera in hand and a walking stick in the other, but this hack from Instructables user Kiteman can easily lighten your load.

The supplies, and the modification, are both fairly simple.  You'll just need a few basic tools and some black Sugru to make it all look nice.  You're essentially just adding a threaded screw to the top of your walking stick, making it into a nice portable monopod.

By making your walking stick into a monopod, there's no need to carry an extra tripod, giving you that much less to carry.
