DIY: Add a Weight Hook to Keep Your Tripod Stable

An ultra light tripod is a bit of a mixed bag. On the plus side, a nice light tripod is far easier to carry than the alternative. The negative side of things is that lighter tripods aren't the most stable of things. Instructable author Andrew Axley has a solution - the Tripod Stabilizer Weight Hook.

The concept is simple enough. Add a hook to the center of your tripod, allowing you to hang weights for added stability. With the hook there you can hang something as simple as your backpack or camera bag - you don't have to carry anything extra along.

The process isn't too terribly difficult, but you'll need a few tools and a little bit of know-how to make it happen.
