DCRP and DVSpot Reviews

Good friend Jeff Keller has been busy over at the DC Resource Page and his new site, the DVSpot, and has posted the following reviews:

On the DC Resource Page he has posted his Sony DSC-P50 review and concluded:

"If you pardon the bad cliché, the Sony DSC-P50 is an oasis in a desert of point-and-shoot cameras. It has great pictures, fast processing speeds, excellent usability, and lots of extra features that most other cameras in its class skip over. The only things not to like are the lack of sound recording in movie mode, and its proprietary (and too small) Memory Stick format. If you're looking for a point-and-shoot digicam, take a close look at the P50!"

And he has also posted his Fujifilm FinePix 2300 review of this compact entry-level, two-megapixel camera. Jeff concludes:

" There are no bells and whistles, gimmicks, or smoke and mirrors on the FP2300. What you will find, is a low-cost camera that takes good pictures. The things I'd like to see (such as an optical zoom and movie mode) would definitely move the price of the camera up another or so, putting it out of reach for first time digicam buyers. But for those new digicam owners, I think the FinePix 2300 will suit them just fine."

And on his digital video camcorder site at DVSpot he has posted his Sony DCR-TRV17 review and had this to say about Sony's mid-priced MiniDV camcorder:

"The TRV17 has almost all the features of the PC110, except it takes 640 x 480 stills. But the real difference is how easy it is to hold -- of the four camcorders I've used, this is the one I'd want to spend the day with, with the Sony TRV130 coming in second. As far as features go, it's got almost every trick in the book. If you want higher quality stills and even more features, then you'll want to check out the Sony TRV30, which I hope to review shortly."
