Coming Soon - The RED DSLR - What the ?

I was perusing my favorite "brain stimulating" site, the Gadget blog over at Wired.com, and came across something of great interest to our readers. I was reading about the upcoming RED '3K SCARLET' movie camera and was thoroughly amazed at its possibilities. I won't spoil the surprise here, suffice it to say that if you're a serious videophile then you owe it to yourself to check it out.

However, the thing that really focused my attention was the article titled "The RED DSLR: A Wish List" - could someone other than one of the famous camera companies come up with the next big thing in still photography? The recently announced D90 from Nikon has finally brought video capture to the dSLR world - but how does 24fps capture of 10-megapixel images sound! And if that isn't enough to make you drool all over your keyboard I forgot to mention that those images would be captured and stored in RAW format. Oh yeah, it's modularly designed, allowing you to add-on bits as you need or want them.

Let's hope that we get a chance to review one in the near future...
