Canon's New Pro Camcorder Firmware Enables 3D Recording

Canon Camcorder.jpgFirmware updates are a beautiful thing - they make otherwise buggy cameras into fully functional ones and they can breathe new life into old equipment. The latest update from Canon certainly does that.

They've added a new upgrade to their XF300 and XF305 professional camcorders that allows users to set up a pair of camcorders to record 3D HD video. It also introduces an updated Scan Reverse feature, Double Slot Recording and the ability to disable Relay Recording.

"Our professional imaging equipment continues to offer cutting-edge features and capabilities that professionals need in the field," says Canon VP Yuichi Ishizuka, adding that it "helps open new doorways to endless possibilities for creative expression."

Canon will be demonstrating this new functionality at NAB 2011 from April 11th through the 14th.
