Canon's Cross Media Station Charges Cameras and Shares Photos Without Wires

It's still in the prototype phase, sadly, but Canon's new Cross Media Station is bound to be a must-have accessory if and when it launches.

You've probably seen inductive charging stations like the Powermat which are capable of charging your devices without the need for wires. You need a special attachment for your device of course, but you can still simply place your phone on the mat and it charges - nice and easy.

The Cross Media Station goes one step further. Not only does it charge your camera, it's capable of displaying photos from that camera, or multiple cameras, on your television.

The folks at Canon say we've got at least two years to wait before we see something like this on the shelves, but in the meantime you can check out a video of the Cross Media Station in action over at CrunchGear.
