Canon Updates the EOS-1D MK IV and EOS 5D MK II

canon_eos-5dmkii_550.jpgTwo new firmware updates were launched by Canon this month - one for the EOS-1D MK IV and the other for the EOS 5D MK II. Both firmware updates are available directly from Canon.

Update 1.1.0 to the EOS 1D MK IV increases read and write speeds when using UDMA 7 compatible cards - something well worth updating for. It also fixes a strange occurrence that shuts down movie shooting after a certain sequence of events.

The EOS 5D MK II's 2.0.9 software receives a similar update for UDMA 7 CF cards. However, Canon also fixed an issue that sometimes occurs with the IS Start custom function. When set to AF Stop on lenses without an AF Stop button, it was causing issues.

Both models also received some updates to the menu text when set to Spanish, Thai, Portuguese, or Arabic. Click the following links below to head on over to Canon's USA Support website to download these updates for your camera(s).
