Canon Unveils Two New PowerShots: the G12 and SX30 IS

Just in time for the upcoming holiday season, Canon has announced two powerful cameras to add to their legendary SX and G-series lines. First we have the
PowerShot G12, which replaces the
G11 from last year. While most of the G12's features have been passed down from its predecessor, Canon has added some appealing new upgrades including their newer Hybrid IS system, in-camera HDR, increased burst mode speeds, etc. This one will retail for about $499 US, and should hit dealer's shelves in early October, 2010.

Next we have the
PowerShot SX30 IS. This unit builds off of the popular
SX20 IS from last year, with some impressive new additions. First off, Canon has increased resolution up to 14-megapixels, along with including a larger 2.7-inch Vari-angle LCD screen. However, the most notable new feature on the SX30 IS is the amazing 35x optical zoom lens. That's no typo, I said 35x! On top of offering unmatched telephoto capabilities, the SX30's lens still gives you an ultra wide 24mm equivalent field of view, making this the most versatile fixed lens on the market today (as of 9/2010). The PowerShot SX30 IS will be available later this month (September, 2010) with a MSRP of $429 US.
