Canon offers new resources to help users understand the EOS-1D X's recent 2.0 firmware update

These come in the form of online articles, workshops and classes. Today they've added some resources for EOS-1D X users, including a Walkthrough by Scott Kelby that explains the new features of the recent 2.0 firmware update. They've also added a mobile-friendly guide book in .PDF format for those of you who are on-the-go.

The Canon Digital Learning Center Provides the Tools Needed to Master the EOS-1D X's AF System

To help users understand the features of the firmware 2.0 update for the EOS-1D X AF System, the Canon Digital Learning Center offers two resources that demonstrate how to make the most out of these upgrades.

 EOS-1D X Firmware 2.0 Features Walkthrough with Scott Kelby:
In this three-part video series, Scott Kelby shows users how the firmware upgrade features can apply to real life shooting scenarios. Shooters will learn:  

  • Overview of the firmware features, including installing the new firmware on the camera.
  • How the new autofocus configuration options will help you when shooting fast and slow subjects, and in low lighting.
  • How to use custom controls to program on camera buttons to perform multiple tasks to switch shooting modes, and how to manage AF points and exposure options. In this series, he discusses:
  • An overview of the features including installing the new firmware on the camera
  • How the new autofocus configuration options will help you when shooting fast and slow subjects in low lighting.
  • How to use custom controls to program the back buttons to perform multiple tasks to switch shooting modes. He also shows how to manage AF points and exposure options in the camera.

EOS 5D Mark III users may find this resource useful as well, as it shares the same 61-Point AF System, and many of the same AF features as the EOS-1D X camera.
