Along with the announcement of the EOS M5, Canon has released information about two new lenses for their EF and EFM lines.

Canon_EF70-300_4-56_IS_II_USM_1000px.jpgStarting with the EF lens, we have the new EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS II USM, which is an updated version of the original EF 70-300mm IS USM lens from 2005. This affordable new zoom lens offers improved optics thanks to the inclusion of one UD element, along with an updated Nano USM focus motor, and improved image stabilization with up to 4 stops of correction. Canon has also included a LCD info display to the top of the lens barrel, which offers various information display modes to the user (controlled by the handy Mode button), including a new shake meter that shows the amount of shake the lens is detecting. Look for this new lens to start shipping in mid November, for a suggested retail price of $549.99 US.

Canon_EFM18-150_35-63_IS_STM_GRAPHITE_850px.jpgNext up is the new EFM 18-150mm f/3.5-6.3 IS STM. Offering an equivalent zoom range of 29-240mm, Canon is noting that this is a great walk around lens to cover various types of photography. With the inclusion of their STM, stepping AF motor, this new lens will also perform well during video capture, with near silent autofocus. It also sports their optical image stabilization, offering up to 4 stops of compensation for your handheld or low light movies/stills. This new lens will be offered in Graphite or Silver, with a suggested retail price of $499.99 US. You can also pick this lens up in a bundle with the new EOS M5 for $1,479.00 US. Like its EF sibling, this lens should start shipping in mid November.
