Canon Adds Five New PowerShot Digital Cameras

Canon_SX530HS_FLASH_front_1200.jpgCanon USA has just announced five new PowerShot cameras, which are to be displayed at CES 2015. They have added three models to their SX-series of compact super-zooms, which includes the SX530 HS (pictured above), SX710 HS, and SX610 HS. The spotlight feature on all three of these new cameras is Active NFC, which allows for faster transmission speeds, a broader operating range, etc.

They also added two affordable Digital ELPH models, which are designed to not only be easy on the pocketbook, but also easy to carry with you thanks to their ultra-compact size. The ELPH 170 IS and ELPH 160 IS share similar specifications, with the 170 IS offering a more capable 12x optical zoom lens (compared to the 8x zoom on the 160 IS), which also includes optical image stabilization (the 160 IS uses digital IS). Both models feature 20MP CCD image sensors, 720p HD video, and a 2.7-inch LCD screen.
