Canon USA Announces Availability of Black Edition of the EOS Digital Rebel

LAKE SUCCESS, N.Y., Nov. 1, 2004—Canon's EOS Digital Rebel, the camera that put the excitement of SLR digital photography into the hands of consumers, will now be available for a limited time in a new black body. The black edition of the Digital Rebel digital SLR will be available at Canon U.S.A. authorized dealers and will sell with the digitally enhanced EF-S 18-55mm zoom lens kit for .

The EOS Digital Rebel remains one of the best selling Digital SLRs in history because it gives consumers the speed and advanced functions formerly only found on higher end cameras. The black Digital Rebel features the same popular features, including fast seven point autofocus, 6.3 megapixel resolution, Canon's exclusive DIGIC imaging processor, and the same design and durability that has established the EOS Rebel line of SLRs as quality performers.

The black edition of the Digital Rebel is compatible with more than 50 Canon EF and EF-S lenses, including the new EF-S 17-85 mm f/4-5.6 IS USM and the wide-angle EF-S 10-22 mm. f/3.5-4.5 USM.

Canon Germany has also announced availability of the black EOS 300D digital SLR. The black Kiss Digital was first released in Japan and Asia early in 2004 and it should be available for the rest of EU countries soon.
