Canon Reveals New PowerShot G7 X III & PowerShot G5 X Mark II Cameras

Canon has announced the latest additions to its G-Series lineup of cameras. The PowerShot G7 X Mark III ($749) and the PowerShot G5 X Mark II ($899) are both available for pre-order now with shipments expected to launch in August.

Both cameras feature a DIGIC 8 Imaging Processor and a 20.1 Megapixel 1.0-inch stacked CMOS sensor. Likewise, both devices support 4K up to 30p, Full HD up to 60p, FHD up to 120p, HDR, and high frame rate movie recording with no crop. In addition, the new models include high-speed continuous shooting capabilities at a maximum of 20 FPS, along with a max ISO speed of 12,800. Finally, both units offer Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity.

And when it comes to key differences, the PowerShot G5 X Mark II model incorporates a 24-120mm 5x optical zoom lens lens (35mm Equivalent), while the the PowerShot G7 X III model incorporates a 24-100mm 4.2x optical zoom lens (35mm Equivalent). In addition, the G5 X Mark II model includes a panoramic shot feature, a dedicated star shooting mode, and a 2.36m-Dot Pop-Up Electronic Viewfinder. Meanwhile, the G7 X III offers a 3.0" Tilting Touchscreen LCD, and a special live-streaming mode to capture and post content to YouTube in real time.
