Canon Posts New D30 Firmware

Today Canon posted EOS D30 firmware v1.0.3.0 which increases the reliability of USB communication when the EOS D30 and a compatible PC or Macintosh computer are connected with the USB interface. The most noticeable improvement occurs during Interval Timer Shooting and Timer Shooting using Remote Capture. The firmware update is for cameras bearing the serial numbers xxx200001 to xxx899999. Cameras already updated with the new firmware will have a note to that fact in the box.

EOS D30 owners using Windows XP or Windows Me are also encouraged to download the new D30 USB WIA Driver 4.2. This driver software can be downloaded from the Canon web site in your market, see the links on the Canon BeBIT D30 firmware page. You can also get the firmware update here if you have problems with the Canon USA site (which I did - some kind of Java scripting error.)
