Canon Adds SD400 and SD500 to the Powershot Digital ELPH Lineup
LAKE SUCCESS, N.Y., Feb. 17, 2005 – Canon introduces two new Digital ELPH models in their popular PowerShot compact camera series – the 7.1-megapixel PowerShot SD500 Digital ELPH and the 5-megapixel PowerShot SD400 Digital ELPH. These ultra-slim, ultra-compact, easy-to-use cameras not only capture brilliant high resolution images and transfer them in a flash, but also allow the user to customize their color on the spot, removing the need for time consuming computer retouching. Both cameras feature retractable 3x optical zoom lenses with macro coverage down to less than four inches and a responsive 9-point AiAF “Smart” autofocus system. Adding to the power of this aptly named PowerShot camera is a new and more powerful built-in flash with six modes (auto/auto with red-eye reduction,/flash on with red-eye reduction, flash on/ flash off and slow synchro).
