CameraTrace Helps Find Your Lost Camera Based on Serial Number

A little way back some folks launched GadgetTrak Serial Search, a website that uses the serial number of your camera to track its location. There were a few kinks to work out during the beta phase, but the service is now live and has been re-launched as CameraTrace.

You can trace your camera by serial number for free. Upon entering the number you'll be given the most recent location data of the camera based on recently uploaded photos.

If you register - $10 per camera - you'll also get the benefit of Active Image Monitoring, which constantly scans for new images taken by your camera. You'll also get a lost and found tag to put on your camera so it can be recovered if found by someone willing to give it back as well as assistance in recovering your stolen goods if need be.
