Bibble Labs Releases Version 4.3 Update with Support for Nikon D50 and D70s
Austin Texas (August 11th, 2005) - Bibble Labs today announced the availability of version 4.3 of its popular Raw Workflow software. In addition to adding support for the new Nikon D50, D70s and Espon R-D1 cameras, this version adds a powerful plug-in interface to the program. Simultaneous to the release of Bibble 4.3, Bibble Labs has also released its first free plug-in. Released under the GPL, The BPTLens plugin is designed to quickly and easily remove common types of lens distortion from raw images. By performing its corrections on linear data at the earliest phase of the image pipeline, BPTLens and Bibble are able to deliver the highest quality images possible.“Thomas Niemann’s PTLens program and associated lens database are widely regarded as the defacto standard for quality lens distortion correction” says Eric Hyman, Bibble Labs’s president. “Basing BPTlens on Thomas’ existing methods and database has allowed us to bring Raw Lens distortion correction to a new level of quality and ease of use.”
In addition to a variety of other minor enhancements, Bibble 4.3 has added a straightening tool (arbitrary rotation) and has further optimized its image pipeline to deliver the fastest raw conversions possible.
“Recently one of our competitors released an update in which they claimed their software generated conversions at ‘the quickest speed’ on the market today. In independent tests, Bibble has always proven to be the quickest way to process raw files. With the release of 4.3, the fastest gets even faster. Running under Windows, Bibble will process massive raw files from Canon Eos 1DM2 or Nikon D2X cameras at a blistering rate that is twice as fast as the nearest competitor,” says Hyman.
Bibble 4.3 is a free update to all owners of any prior version of Bibble 4.
