Analog Devices Enhances the Performance of Next-Generation Digital Cameras And Camcorders
NORWOOD, Mass., Dec. 14 -- Analog Devices, Inc. today announced the development of a new high-performance analog front-end product family that brings higher resolution pictures and longer battery life to digital cameras and camcorders. The AD984x family of AFEs uses a proprietary architecture that produces higher quality pictures by allowing digital cameras to rapidly and accurately convert "real-world" images into digital content without generating excessive noise, an important factor in preserving the quality of high-resolution images. In addition, the AD984x family requires up to 50% less power than previous solutions, extending camera battery life.
"The AD984x architecture is the first of its kind in the imaging industry," stated John Hussey, vice president of high-speed converters, Analog Devices. "As the market share leader in digital camera and camcorder AFEs, Analog Devices is pleased to introduce yet another family of high performance AFEs with superior noise performance at power and pricing necessary to cover a broad range of camera products."
