Altek's Leo Phone Sports Optical Zoom and a 14MP CCD
If you're into the idea of an all-in-one or multi-function device, the new Leo phone from Altek may be the one for you. Sure, it's no DSLR, but it might make a decent replacement for that point and shoot.
Unlike most camera phones, the camera comes first with the Leo. In fact, it almost looks like adding a phone was an afterthought. Sure, it makes calls, but if you're not planning to take pictures, this isn't the phone for you.
According to Wired, the Leo will sport a 3x optical zoom lens with a range from 6.5 to 19.5mm. It will also have apertures from 3.1 to 5.6, which may not be impressive for a camera, but for a cell phone, it's unheard of.
There's no word on whether the Leo will hit US shores or not, but if it does, expect to see it with a different brand stamped on it, since Altek is an OEM.
