Adobe Premier Pro "No-Stitch" Editing Now Available For Insta360 Pro

Great news for Insta360 Pro users. They just released a new Adobe Premiere Pro extension that stitches your footage for you, letting you edit right away - with no waiting.

The extension can be downloaded here, and is part of the new 1.7.0 Insta360 Sticher update.

How does this work? It's kind of clever actually, the extension creates a low-res proxy version of the original footage that can be stitched in real time. This low rez version also helps keep the software running at optimal speed without dragging the system down by trying to edit with files up to 8K.  The video footage is only compressed a single time too, just during the initial sticking and not during and output.

This is still demanding on a computer and Insta recommends that you have a computer with at least these specs:

  • CPU: i7 6700K or higher
  • RAM: 8GB or higher
  • Graphics card: GTX980 or a higher-performing NVIDIA or AMD card
  • Hard drive: SSD recommended
  • Operating system: Windows 8.1, MacOS 10.10, or higher

If you're just getting into 360 footage then you know what a pain stitching can be. You'll also probably know what a drain full-resolution stitched footage can be on your system. VR, 360 and anything over 4K can be incredibly taxing on your computer. Many people want to edit at full-res just to see the exactly what their whole project looks like from start to finish. A low-res proxy that already stitches your footage makes the whole process that much more enjoyable. No one wants to be their own assistant editor. It's laborious and makes you not want to shoot 360 footage.

Insta is also offering 10% now through July 10th and a free selfie stick when you use code NANSUM at checkout.
