Adobe Acquires Behance Social Media Platform

Adobe has just made a purchase that it hopes will help bolster the capabilities of their Creative Cloud. The new pickup is called Behance, and it's a social media platform that lets photographers and other artists post and share their work. The combo should synergize nicely, allowing for a more community driven Creative Cloud.

"Behance will play a key role in Adobe's efforts to serve the creative world in the years to come and will accelerate our efforts to enable a more open and collaborative creative community," says Adobe's David Wadhwani. He says that this is yet another way that Adobe is improving the Creative Cloud for their users.

"As creatives rely more on the social Web for collaboration and opportunity, creative people and teams will benefit from Behance's community features integrated into the creative process," says Behance co-founder Scott Belsky. "We're thrilled to join Adobe and empower creative careers on a global scale."
