3,000 Photos are Uploaded to Facebook Every Second

And you thought your friends feed was bad. For every baby picture, arms length self portrait, picture of a cute cat or low light image taken by a poorly equipped camera phone that your friends upload, there are 2,999 more photos going online. That's 3,000 a second, or around 180,000 a minute.

This information was all revealed recently since Facebook filed to be a publicly traded company. The numbers for the site are staggering. Every month there are 845 million people accessing the site and those people contribute to the 2.7 billion "likes" and comments each day.

The company also revealed some impressive storage numbers. All of the videos and pictures currently on Facebook take up 100 million gigabytes of storage space.
