02/25/2004: Casio Announces New EX-Z40 Zoom with 2.5 Times Longer Battery Life

Eight digital still cameras were named winners in the 2004 DIMA Digital Camera Shoot-Out at the PMA 2004 Convention and Trade Show in Las Vegas, Nev., USA. Over 50 digital camera entries and 13 manufacturers participated in the 8th Annual DIMA Digital Camera Shoot-Out, which took place on Friday, Feb. 13, at the DIMA Annual Conference in Las Vegas, Nevada. Last night Konica Minolta showed us their upcoming Maxxum 7 (Dynax 7 in Europe and areas other than N. America and Japan) Digital SLR camera which is due in "Fall 2004." This interchangeable lens dSLR features a 6-megapixel APS size sensor with an integrated anti-shake system that works with all lenses. Thursday 5th February, 2004: DIWA, the Digital Imaging Websites Association, today announces three digital camera product awards, the first such awards from this recently launched industry organisation. Since November last year, testers from DIWA member websites covering the four corners of Europe have evaluated and compiled test scores for dozens of cameras. DIWA's rigorous technically-based scoring system has produced two winning cameras to date: the Olympus E-1 and the Casio QV-R40. The latter merits a DIWA Silver medal in the category of Amateur Compact camera and the Olympus E-1 a Gold medal in the category of Professional System camera.
