Roxio Creator Classic: Archiving Files to DVD

Creator Classic is produced by Roxio and is designed to archive files onto DVD. This is useful for a number of reasons. Firstly, you will be able to avoid filling up your hard drive. It's also a major benefit because the files will be securely backed up just in case your computer stops working for any reason.

Step 1: Getting Acquainted with the Interface

The Creator classic window is split up into four main sections. These are the tasks area, source area, project area and status area. Take some time to get to know how the application works. The tasks area is where you choose the type of project that you want to create.

Step 2: Creating a Disk

To create a disk, select "Data Disc." This will allow you to burn files onto a DVD. The top section of the screen can then be used to browse for the files you want to add. Either browse the albums in media manager or alternatively click the folder tab and browse through all the files on your computer.

Then, drag the files or folders down onto the project area. You can also click add. The status area shows the files on the disc and will also show you how much space is available depending on the size of disk.

Step 3: Creating New Folders

You can also create new folders in the Project window. To do this, right click and click on "New Folder". To rename the file, right click and select "Rename".

Step 4: Burning

When you are happy, click the burn button and wait while your project is written to the disc.
